Cupola Flux Briquettes
Fluorspar-Based Products
CF32 - A supplemental cupola flux based on fluorspar and other supplemental fluxing agents. It is designed to improve the fluidity of cupola slags as well as remove "emulsified liquid slags" such as manganese silicates and manganese sulfides, as well as titanium nitrides and carbo-nitrides. Nominally contains 29% to 31 % flurospar plus other proprietary ingredients. Detailed technical data sheets are available on its use.
SS 946 - A concentrated fluoride containing cupola flux based on fluorspar and other supplemental fluxing agents. It is designed to improve the fluidity of cupola slags as well as remove "emulsified liquid slags" such as manganese silicates and manganese sulfides, as well as titanium nitrides and carbo-nitrides. Nominally contains 76.5% minimum flurospar along with other proprietary ingredients. Detailed technical data sheets are available on its use.
Soda Ash Based Products
Redux CF 40 – A fluoride-free based cupola flux that functions like CF 32 and SS 946. It is specifically formulated for use in cupola applications that have a baghouse for emission control. Redux CF 40 flux will also greatly assist in the consolidation and coagulation of discrete TiO2, TiC and TiCN particles. These difficult to melt and very thermally stable inclusions are "wetted" by the low viscosity slag and flushed out of the cupola. Detailed technical data sheets are available on its use.
