Slag Coagulants
Slag-a-Way – A light gray, whitish-colored alumina silicate mineral. When added to the surface of molten iron, Slag-A-Way expands and attracts fluid slag on the surface of the metal to it, aiding in easy and efficient slag removal. Slag A-way is designed to allow for faster, effective cleansing of the molten metal surface. This product is available in fine, medium, and course particle sizes.
Slag-a-Way Plus – A modified version of Slag-a-Way that expands in a controlled fashion without the harsh "popping" normally associated with similar perlite-based minerals. Slag-a-Way Plus also releases from slag rods or racks very easily. This product is available in fine, medium, and course particle sizes.
SlaGrip SC-2 – Used to dry up fluid slag on molten iron and copper base alloys. The porous granules, when sprinkled over the slag, will dry up and coagulate the slag for easy removal. Can be used as an insulating cover when holding ladles.
